The Sacraments

The sacraments are at the heart of our life as a parish — outward signs of God’s grace, given to us by Christ. To prepare for any sacrament, please contact the parish office.

Baptism

Baptisms are celebrated by appointment. Parents wishing to have their child baptised should contact the parish office to arrange a meeting and preparation.

“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them.” — Mark 10:14

Reconciliation (Confession)

Confessions are heard on Saturday, 10:30–11:00 am, and at any time by appointment. See our Mass & Confession times.

The Eucharist & First Holy Communion

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. Preparation for children to receive their First Holy Communion runs through the year — please contact the parish office to enrol.

Confirmation

Young people and adults preparing to be confirmed are supported through a programme of preparation. Please contact the office for details of the current programme.

Marriage

Couples intending to marry are asked to contact the parish priest at least six months in advance, so that there is time for the necessary preparation.

“What God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Mark 10:9

Anointing of the Sick

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is available for any parishioner who is seriously ill, undergoing surgery, or frail in age. Please contact the parish office — at any time in an emergency — to request a visit.

Holy Orders & Religious Life

If you feel that God may be calling you to the priesthood or to religious life, please speak to Father Walker, who would be glad to talk and to put you in touch with the Diocese of Leeds vocations team.
